Why the battery exposion and fire ?


 


1 , lithium battery negative capacity is insufficient


  


When the capacity of the negative electrode of the positive electrode of lithium battery is insufficient, the lithium atoms generated during charging cannot be inserted into the interlayer structure of the negative electrode graphite, which will be analyzed on the surface of the negative electrode and form crystals.


 


Crystallization in a lithium battery for a long time can lead to a short circuit, when the cell discharge rapidly, will produce a lot of heat, burning the diaphragm.High temperatures break down the electrolyte into gases, and when the pressure is too high, the cell explodes.


 


 


 


2, the moisture content is too high


 


Charging, water can react and lithium, lithium oxide, make batteries capacity loss, easy to make batteries overcharge and gas production, water with low breakdown voltage, charging is easy to decompose generated gas, when the series of the generated gas can make the batteries of internal pressure, when batteries shell cannot afford, batteries would explode.


 


 


3. Internal short circuit


 


The short circuit of the internal electric core causes large current discharge, generates a lot of heat, burns out the diaphragm, and causes a bigger short circuit phenomenon, which will cause the electrolyte to decompose into gas, the internal pressure is too large, the electric core will explode.


 


 


 


4, lithium battery overcharge


 


When the battery is overcharged, excessive release of lithium from the positive electrode will change the structure of the positive electrode, and excessive release of lithium is easy to not insert into the negative electrode, also easy to cause lithium evolution on the negative electrode surface. Moreover, when the voltage reaches more than 4.5v, the electrolyte will decompose to produce a large number of gases.All of these could cause an explosion.


 


 


 


5. External short circuit


 


External short circuit may be due to the fault of the positive and negative electrode, due to the external short circuit, the battery discharge current is very large, will make the cell heating, high temperature will make the cell inside the diaphragm contraction or completely bad, resulting in internal short circuit, thus the explosion.
